Well, apparently I've finally decided that I really don't like to have any free time... so I'll be updating my webcomic,
The Paul Reveres, twice a week! The new schedule is going to be new full color pages on Tuesday and Friday. They're usually posted at 12:00 AM EST as well. I'm trying to stick to some sort of schedule, unless I'm coloring them at the last minute or something.
There are two reasons that I decided to do this:
One basic reason is that I want to move the story along faster for the readers. It's hard to take these kinds of comics to the web sometimes if updates aren't more than once a week. I always feel like I'm making people wait too long to see the next page.
The second, big reason, is that I am pushing myself to get issue one (24 pages plus 4-6 pages or so of bonus content) done for when I go to ConnectiCon in late July. This means that I have to get the book ready for printing at the end of June. I'm only on page 8, so I'll have to see where this goes. I REALLY enjoy working on this comic, but also working as a web design monkey for 8 hours a day is a little wearing. So now, I have less than two months to finish 20 or so pages without rushing them. Oh... I also have two cons to prepare for in the meantime. D:
AnimeBoston is coming up on Memorial Day weekend... which I'm not prepared for at all. You may notice a couple more fan art type pieces start to trickle in my gallery here. They are going to be new things that I am trying to make for my table. 'Cause let's face it; selling the same drawings for 2 years is getting old. I'm so lazy!
I may not have a lot of new artwork yet to sell at AB, but I'm working on stuff here and there. Hopefully I can get a good amount of stuff done in the next 3 weeks in between my comic, an e-commerce website design/development and robot graphics for a secret project. I will most likely not see sunlight for the next two months, which really isn't a bad thing.
I'm starting the planning stages of morphing my regular Artist Alley booth setup to promote my webcomic, so that will be new for me. At Anime Boston I'll have some neato free shit to give away. Little things to start with, like glossy-ass two-sided postcards and buttons. There are not enough hyphenated words to express the sheer awesomeness of my free shit offerings. These freebies will be high quality and will be THE SHIT instead of just plain ol' shitty. I ordered a new button maker, so I'm cooking with gas now.
When AnimeBoston gets over I'll be heading out to PortCon Maine in June to do the song and dance all over again. I had a lot of fun last year, so I'm giving it another try.
In the meantime, I'll also try to be more active here on DA. I hit the purge button of over 1,300 deviations in my watch list. Sorry! I always let it get too out of hand. Even if I'm not commenting to all of your artwork, I do see them all. If I become quiet on here again, you'll know it's because I'm working my ass off on comics and artwork. I'm drawing every day now, which is weird for me, being the lazy slob that I am.
Hehe. Well, I hope to see some of you at conventions this year for some awkward-meet-people-from-the-internet kind of interaction. I love it, really. I've updated this journal to show my con schedule for the rest of the year and my Artist Alley table information as it becomes available.
